Josie Alexandra

is an experimental multi-dimensional artist, fascinated by the potential of intra-personal relationships as sites for transformation in world-making processes. Their work offers critiques and envisionings of plausible futurisms [for trans and neurodiverse communities and beyond] in the current global crisis.

Their prince-like legal name: Josephine Camilla Alexandra is a citizen of “Australia”, whilst they are most commonly known as Josie Alexandra. They are known in the electronic and experimental music scene under the moniker X4NDR4 and host a painting moniker, Joseph Camilla. As a child, they thought their middle name was Camellia since their parents are avid plant lovers.

Josie's praxis extends beyond the constraints of genre and is expressed through various artistic mediums (film, sound, poetry, etc) and alter egos.

They can be found promoting inconsistency-consistency via Aeaea Time.

Hailing from a long line of eccentrics, divergent thinkers, and change-makers, Josie's ethos is that narratives exist to be ruptured and (re)conceptualised. Josie came to understand their life as an artistic experiment through conversations with their father. In their adult life, excitedly continues the articulation of this narrative as an experimental multi-disciplinary artist.
