About the work:

A kaleidoscope of multi-dimensional queerness and the fluid evolution/fluctuation of identity through time. Featuring performer Charlie Wood, these images were taken as part of were originally part of a project called ‘Queer Joy: In Conversation/Wonderfully Not What We Expected’ – “a multimedia docu-style art project produced and captured by Bold Mellon Collective. A unique blend of film, audio, digital/instant photography and conversation breaks the fourth wall and takes us behind the scenes of a queer community discussing queer joy as a concept and an experience. Creatives Amy-Rose Edlyn (Tainted Saint), Dear Annie Arts, Emilia Nurmukhamet, and Venus Raven have collaborated with four powerhouse artists with roots in and around Croydon to capture their raw, un-interrupted response to the queer joy theme.”

Artist Bio:

Amy-Rose Edlyn is a queer, non-binary multidisciplinary artist and theatre maker from Croydon, London. They are Co-Founder and Co-Artistic Director of Bold Mellon Collective C.I.C – an award-nominated queer arts company creating and sustaining uplifting trans-disciplinary art platforms for emerging FLINTA creatives. Edlyn also creates experimental, mixed-medium visual and performance art that challenges binaries, centres LGBTQIA+ stories and explores the raw beauty in the distorted human lens under the name ‘Tainted Saint’.
